The right hand is the seat of power, so if I’m seeing God there, it seems to me that this is confirmation that my strength, power, and assurance come from Him.
And if I keep looking to Him, I can walk in assurance, not arrogance.
There’s a difference.
Assurance says, God is with me.
Arrogance says, I’ve got this.
I don’t got this. But God does.
In these last days, where things are changing constantly, and not always for the better,
we need to anchor ourselves in that assurance.
There’s shaking in the world.
There’s shaking in the church.
And if we’re not careful, all that shaking around us will have us shaking too.
But David says, “I saw the Lord always before me.”
That’s where his attention was.
And because of that, he says his heart was glad, his tongue rejoiced, and his flesh could dwell in hope.
We know that Christ is our hope but knowing that He gives us the strength to resist temptation and the truth of His Word to keep us from being shaken gives me even more hope.
Things may keep changing.
People may keep acting up.
The world may keep worlding.
But God is still God.
And if He is at my right hand, I don’t have to be shaken.
